Theresa May Nails her Brexit Colours to the Mast!

Birmingham England. The Conservative Party Conference 2018 is taking place at Birmingham's International Convention Centre from September 30 to October 3

The interrogation came after Prime Minister Theresa May's leader's speech at the Conservative Party Conference had a glaring omission - she never used the word Chequers. But as she emerged to the strains of her favourite song, Abba's Dancing Queen, she looked like she was having the time of her life.

It was a warm welcome for a leader whose fragile position at the helm of her party has been put under further pressure after the European Union rejected parts of her so-called Chequers plan and critics stepped up calls for her to ditch her strategy on Brexit, Britain's biggest policy shift for more than 40 years.

"If we all go off in different directions in pursuit of our own vision of the ideal Brexit, we risk ending up with no Brexit at all", she said, a rebuff to eurosceptic lawmakers who have published their alternatives plan for leaving the EU. "Even if we do not all agree on every part of this proposal, we need to come together", May said.

In Mr Duddridge's letter, he stated he had "not met a single MP who thinks she will lead us into another election after the last disastrous snap election".

'And our message to them must be this - we get it.

More broadly, rather than concentrating on the divisions within her own party, May's speech was more focussed on the nation and landed a number of blows on the Labour party, the front bench of which the Prime Minister derided as the "Jeremy Corbyn party".

In her keynote speech, Mrs May launched a stinging attack on Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, saying he had rejected his party's cherished values.

In her address to the party this week, Mrs May called for unity, and said all sides needed to compromise over Brexit, or they could put Britain's withdrawal from the European Union at risk.

There was no mention of the ex-foreign secretary, who won thunderous applause from 1500 activists as he called on her to "chuck" the Brexit plan agreed at her country residence in July.

Johnson endorses the same alternative proposal, but the mop-haired former London mayor has particular star appeal.

The challenges that May is facingdid little to dampen the gusto of her speech to conservatives Wednesday. Did she take into account "the people" from different countries, who have lived here for years or only those with British passports?

Johnson, gave a rousing speech at a fringe event at the party's annual conference in which he once again criticized her Brexit proposals.

May and her team are braced for a gruelling set of discussions: with EU leaders, with her parliamentary partners in the DUP, and with the European Commission, all the while withstanding ferocious friendly fire.

In particular, highlighting what she has repeatedly called her "personal mission" to tackle the housing crisis, May announced she would scrap the cap on how much local authorities can borrow to build new social housing.

Numerous eurosceptic Conservative MPs have already drawn big crowds in Birmingham as they offer their own idea for a looser trade arrangement with the EU. "There are instances where I will see a Conservative colleague on the television saying they have written a letter to me when they haven't".

Inside, the paper spoke of how Mr Johnson "plunged the knife in", and a leader column said that while the speech "pressed all the right buttons", its content was "deeply disloyal to the Prime Minister and profoundly unrealistic". Taking back control of our borders, laws and money.

"Despite the United Kingdom government's rejection of the original EU backstop proposal, we will not give up seeking a workable solution that fully respects the Good Friday Agreement as well as the integrity of the Single Market and the customs union". Good for jobs, good for the union.
