Georgia cops caught on bodycam ‘flipping coin to decide arrest’

Later they discuss the coin flip app.

Two police officers in Georgia used a coin flip app to decide if a woman should be arrested or not.

"So you can go over 80 miles per hour?"

Roswell, GA police made an arrest rather than ticket a driver based on a coin toss. This past Monday the charges against Webb were dismissed.

As she sat in her auto, damning bodycam footage obtained by 11Alive shows officer Brown return to the patrol vehicle to consult fellow officer Wilson on what she should do.

Minutes later, the officers are back in the patrol vehicle and are heard on body-camera saying, "A head, R tail", likely standing for "arrest" and "release".

Batman villain Two-Face liked to flip a coin to decide one's fate. As a result, the cops are on administrative leave during an internal affairs investigation - and Webb's charges were dropped.

The officers are being dubbed #CoinFlipCops.

"You think driving that fast on a wet road is a smart idea just because you're late to work?" the officer adds. The news outlet reported Webb was pulled over for a traffic stop this past April for allegedly speeding past a police cruiser.

The other officer pointed out she also didn't have any tickets.

Officers Brown and Wilson were only placed on administrative leave after an unnamed source within the Roswell Police Department told WXIA of the coin flip.

"23", she says, an apparent reference to what the Atlanta Police Department described as a code for an arrest or citation. "WEBB was placed in custody in Smith & Wesson handcuffs which were double locked and seated in the rear of my patrol vehicle".

"I'm sorry", Webb said, choking up.

Chief Grant said it's still unclear how long it will take to determine the outcome of the internal investigation.

"I have much higher expectations of our police officers and I am appalled that any law enforcement officer would trivialize the decision making process of something as important as the arrest of a person", Grant said.

"Wow, these people put my freedom in the hands of a coin flip", she said.
