Bellator 198 start time

MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko

According to the Telegraph's Gareth A. Davies, the heavyweight legend was approached by the Federal Bureau of Investigation during his stay in Chicago ahead of a date with Frank Mir at Saturday's Bellator 198.

Both men came out swinging and it was Mir who first knocked down "The Last Emperor" but he quickly rose back to his feet and then executed a slick throw to bring the former UFC champion to the mat. That all changed when, for at least one night, Emelianenko turned back the clock.

All it took was 48 seconds for Frank Mir to fall to Fedor Emelianenko.

With a flurry that Bellator can use repeatedly to promote Fedor's next bout with Chael Sonnen. The 41-year-old Emelianenko made his Bellator debut last June, falling via knockout in just 74 seconds to Matt Mitrione.

The semi-finals of the Grand Prix of Bellator in heavy weight, which will meet Russian Fyodor Emelyanenko and American Cheyl Sonnen, scheduled for September, reports TASS. He is on a three-fight skid.

"The only thing I hate more than being in Chicago is being in the ring with you", Sonnen said, despite showing sportsmanship to the longtime MMA legend. "I assure you, the next time I am, it will not be for long". He retired in 2012 but began fighting again in 2015.

According to MMA Junkie, he said: "I can not say the fight went the way I planned it because I still missed some big hits". Commenting on his meeting with the FBI, Emelianenko said that "everything was great". "In public, definitely, his behavior is challening". I think that's the way he attracts extra attention to his fight and his performances. "Because I know him in an absolutely different way". Have YOUR say in the comments section below.
