Embiid Clears Concussion Protocol, Won't Play Game 2

Can anyone stop the Warriors winning again

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (face) believes there is a good chance he will be able to play in Game 2 or 3 versus the Miami Heat.

The All-Star big man averaged 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 blocks during those contests.

Make it 17 wins in a row.

One of the East's most intriguing 2018 NBA Playoffs first round match-ups pits the Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat on Saturday. But the Spurs and Heat both know they can steal the home-court edge away with wins in Game 2.

This Philly-Miami series is one of the most intriguing watches of the first round.

Canberran Mills was given the job of guarding Thompson and it proved mission impossible.

Klay Thompson scored a game-high 27 points and Kevin Durant chipped in with 24 as Golden State began its title defense with an easy win over San Antonio in Oakland, Calif. Whiteside averaged 19.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game against the 76ers this season (excluding the February 2 game where he left early with a stomach virus).

"That's what Klay is best at, knocking down the jump shot". Embiid is a first-team All-NBA candidate as well as Defensive Player of the Year candidate.

Mills, who started for the Spurs at shooting guard, has a history of hot shooting streaks in the post-season but was ran ragged trying to defend Thompson.

Although Embiid has missed the past eight games, the 76ers have thrived with an 8-0 record during that stretch. That game will be 8 p.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo Center.

Curry is expected to sit out the Spurs' series as he overcomes a serious left knee sprain. Golden State lost 10 of its final 17 regular-season games, and doesn't want to see this series open with a split that will see the return of "what's wrong with the Warriors?" questions. The squad has won nine straight games without Embiid.
