Carrie Underwood's Comeback Single 'Cry Pretty' Has Twitter Ugly Crying

After A Scary Accident, Carrie Underwood Shared A Positive Update And A New Song With Fans

Today, Underwood proved she's stronger than ever and released a powerful new song, "Cry Pretty".

The country superstar took a "hard fall" on the stairs outside her Nashville home on November 10, but didn't share details about it for weeks.

Underwood's latest comments about her new song come shortly after she spoke about the track in a personal letter to fans on her Fan Club earlier this week.

Before Underwood physically released the track, the Oklahoma native made a decision to tease her fans about the new song through social media. This will be Carrie's first public appearance since injuring her face.

The American Idol victor also wrote that there was a positive side to taking it easy over the last few months, namely spending time with her hockey player hubby, Mike Fisher and their 3-year-old son, Isaiah.

Underwood will be performing her new single, Cry Pretty, at the CMAs this weekend, where she is nominated for two awards: Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year. "I'm hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don't know how it's all going to end up". "I've been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but I've also been able to be creative in a way that I've never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering", she said.

Written by Underwood, along with the hit Nashville songwriting team Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey and Liz Rose, it's an emotional ballad that also rocks with a searing guitar solo. I joined one of their writing sessions past year to see if we could come up with some magic...and we did! The title, she said, refers to "when emotions take over and you just can't hold them back". I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood's husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.

Now the blonde beauty is set to make a big comeback as on Monday it was shared the 13-time ACM Award victor will perform the world television premiere of her soon-to-be-released single live on the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards.
