Mo Salah might be available against Man City, says Liverpool coach Klopp

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could be off to Real Madrid

The Reds' 231st meeting with Everton ended in stalemate as Klopp rested several players for Tuesday's Champions League trip to Manchester City.

The Egyptian hobbled off against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night holding his groin, though Klopp had been optimistic that it was only a short-term injury.

"I don't know in the moment", said Jürgen Klopp when asked for an update on the No.11 in his post-match press conference.

"If he is a doubt, and not 100%, he will not be involved". That's the same with all of them.

"You can not push a player through a game". "We controlled the game for around 60-70 minutes, then everything got a bit emotional, but that is normal, I would have expected that. If I think I have to do this or that, I will do it".

Salah limped off seven minutes after half-time but Klopp has now revealed that the 25-year-old was feeling optimistic about his diagnosis after the game.

"We still have the same number of games as we would have had with them". You will see who is available and who is not available when you see the line-up. "But [I] don't want to give too much information away".

The German manager looks set to hand opportunities to a host of fringe players as he realises the need to utilise his squad as the injuries continue to mount for the Reds.

"Maybe the problem is me and it's just the way it is with the amount of good footballers there are there".

"Conor was last year in the U-18s and is in his first year with the U-23s - (he is) still a very young lad".
