Many To Attend 'Largest Easter Egg Hunt In OC' At Local School

Monterey Hundreds of children, hundreds of parents and 7,000 eggs.

Children searched the grounds of lower Willow Park for plastic pastel colored Easter eggs, with the hopes of finding something special inside.

The event was expected to get underway at 10 Brea Junior High School Park. Deandre Goodwin, 2, found both the "peace" and "love" eggs his zone.

Fewer kids turned out this year and that meant more eggs in the baskets.

Each egg contained either a small toy, candy, or a ticket.

SALISBURY, Md-The Easter bunny finally made his way to town for the seventh annual egg hunt at Salisbury University.

"They suck them up in about three minutes", said Ashtabula Township Park Commissioner Brian Hubbard after watching four different groups of children race to gather 8,000 eggs. In previous years it was held at Solecito Park.

Daniel Mendoza, the pastor, said the event was in its 4th year, and will feature games and prizes.

Egg hunters were split up by age group, with the youngest children going first, followed by the older children.

New Haven employee Greg Kaylor, left, Recorder Roberta Hysell, center, and Councilman Matt Shell are pictured behind the prize table for the older kids at New Haven's egg hunt Saturday. "It's a win-win".

For a bit more of a challenge, there was an Easter egg hunt maze.

"We have record numbers, even with the weather", said Shannon Wellnitz, one of the event's committee members. "It was a huge undertaking".

"We had 268 children who registered to take part this year", said Dingwall. Hall stores the eggs in her house during the year, distributes them to scouts and then collects all the stuffed eggs at her house before the event.

Easter Bunny Crystal Zimmerman, 10, of Osoyoos did time in a pillory at Easter Eggstravaganza, but she didn't seem too upset about it.

One of the biggest surprises of all was that the Easter Bunny knew the names of numerous children.
