Ex-Playboy Model Wants to Speak About Alleged Relationship With President Trump

Ex-Playboy Model Karen McDougal Sues to Break Free of NDA and Tell Her Story on Alleged Trump Tryst

Cooper's interview with Stormy Daniels, the porn star who also claims to haves had a months-long relationship around the same time, is set to air on CBS's 60 Minutes three days later.

The lawsuit contends that AMI paid McDougal $150,000 for exclusive rights to her story for the objective of keeping it out of the public eye - a practice known as "catch and kill" - to protect Trump.

She also believes President Trump's attack dog attorney Michael Cohen, the same attorney who says he paid Daniels $130,000 out of his own pocket for a "hush agreement", was "secretly involved" in the negotiations. In papers filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court on March 20 and EXCLUSIVELY obtained by HollywoodLife.com, her legal team alleges that the tycoon and his campaign worked with AMI, the parent company of The National Enquirer, to keep her story from becoming public.

Under the contract between McDougal and American Media, included in court documents, the former model would appear on magazine covers and write fitness columns while turning over lifetime rights to her story about "any romantic, personal and/or physical relationship McDougal has ever had with any then-married man".

McDougal's lawsuit was filed on the same day that a NY state judge ruled Trump must face a defamation suit by California restaurateur Summer Zervos, who accused him of sexually harassing her after she appeared on his former reality TV show The Apprentice. The president has firmly denied the women's claims.

Convinced news of the extramarital relationship would come out in full, McDougal hired entertainment lawyer Keith Davidson who "assured her that the rights to publish her story were worth millions".

McDougal didn't learn until a recent New York Times report that after she signed the agreement, Davidson contacted Michael Cohen to tell him that it was done and McDougal's silence was taken care of.

Clifford and McDougal tell strikingly similar stories about their experiences with Trump, which included alleged trysts at the same Lake Tahoe golf tournament in 2006, dates at the same Beverly Hills hotel and promises of apartments as gifts. She says she's been threatened with "financial ruin" if she does not honor the agreement and claims the publisher has profited from her situation by giving "reporters false information about Ms. McDougal, her relationship with Mr. Trump, and its own machinations to bind her to silence".

The news of McDougal's suit came as NY judge allowed a defamation case brought by Summer Zervos, who has accused Trump of sexual assault, to move forward by denying a defense motion to dismiss the case.

McDougal signed a $150,000 deal with AMI for the story before the 2016 election.

Law&Crime reached out to Davidson and A.M.I. for comment, but they have not responded.

In February, The New Yorker published an investigation into McDougal's alleged affair, which reportedly lasted months.
