The Roots' Show at SXSW Canceled After Bomb Threat

Black Thought at SXSW in 2017

Trevor Weldon Ingram, now charged with a felony count of making terroristic threats, claimed there was a bomb at the festival's Fair Market venue.

According to the statement, police were "able to identify and locate the suspect believed to be tied to this threat and at 11:08 p.m. a warrant was signed" for Ingram's arrest, which took place just seven minutes later. Officers checked the area but found nothing suspicious, officials said.

"Due to a security concern, we have made the hard decision to cancel tonight's Bud Light x The Roots SXSW Jam", an Anheuser-Busch representative told Rolling Stone in a statement.

The threat was made to the Fair Market event venue at 1100 East 5th Street several blocks east of Interstate 35.

The Bud Light event was cancelled at 9:40 on Saturday as a precaution. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Reappearing for a third year, the show was set to include performances by Ludacris, Jessie Reyez, Rapsody, Dermot Kennedy and Tank and the Bangas.

According to Austin police, there were no indications of any broader security concerns for any other activities.

QuestLove, the frontman for the Philly band, warned fans about the cancellation on Twitter and then deleted his tweet. But we can't risk our lives if we are told there was a bomb threat.

Ingram's motivation for the e-mail threat is not clear.

The cancellation follows a mysterious string of serial bombings that have killed two people in Austin and injured several more.

The package-bomb cases have not been solved.
