Donald Trump Has Answer to Gun Crisis, Then He Doesn't on SNL

In Saturday's cold open, Baldwin's Trump delivered prepared remarks on recent events at the White House, focusing on the conversation surrounding gun control in the wake of the Parkland Fla. massacre. His answer was to start by acknowledging that there is a correlation between mental health and such violence. "I have so much mentals". The actor won an Emmy for his portrayal on the sketch comedy series and floated the idea of taking the character to Broadway, but now he describes the role as "agony".

"It's clear something has to change", Baldwin says as Trump.

"Agony. I can't", Baldwin told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. "The guy with the gun wouldn't know what hit him; bing bing ding dong dang, he' done" says "Trump".

Baldwin's Trump then addressed audience, with Beck Bennett's Mike Pence on once side and Cecily Strong's Dianne Feinstein on the other.

"The youth of America deserve to feel safe and secure in their schools", he continued, but "folks, I can only run into so many schools and save everybody..." If I could I'd run into all of them, even without a weapon. "I'm actually a very fast runner".

Baldwin's Trump also talked about all of the countries that are ahead of the US, including China, Japan, and the fictional setting of Black Panther, Wakanda. "They got flying cars in Wakanda". "Because these people who work for me keep resigning". In fact, we know he's so good because Trump thinks he's so bad.

Hicks, played by Cecily Strong, appeared later on Weekend Update to say goodbye to her friends from her "semester overseas at the White House".

Michael Che had his own commentary about Trump's bipartisan meeting and flip-flop on gun control during "Weekend Update".
