Limited Edtion Range Rover SV Coupe to make world debut in Geneva

EMBARGOED UNTIL JAN 23 AT 7_01PM EST Range Rover SV Coupe Preview Image

Land Rover will introduce the Range Rover SV Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show in March, a 2-door take on its classic full-size luxury SUV created to honor the original Range Rover, which was also introduced with two doors back in 1970.

It's not yet clear how many have been earmarked for Australia, but a local JLR spokesman has confirmed a limited number will arrive here from October or November.

Power is likely to come from the same 557bhp 5.0 litre V8 which powers the SVAutobiography, and prices will probably be north of £175,000.

Expect availability, pricing and more details to be revealed when the SV Coupe is revealed to the press and customers in an invitation-only "client commissioning" event in Paris on February 21. Why limited edition you ask?

Land Rover's plush Range Rover is harking back to its roots with an exclusive limited edition version of the vehicle that will feature only three doors.

The vehicle, launching during the 70 anniversary of Land Rover, will be hand-assembled at the company's SV Technical Center in Warwickshire, U.K., with production limited to 999 copies.

Land Rover on Tuesday revealed a teaser image of the interior of the 2-door Range Rover to whet the appetites of SUV enthusiasts worldwide.

"This is a vehicle that will resonate on an emotional level", he promised.

McGovern has previously hinted at the coupe's existence, suggesting journalists "write that down" when he referenced a two-door Range Rover variant during a Los Angeles motor show press conference.

"Land Rover created the luxury SUV sector with Range Rover nearly 50 years ago".

The original Range Rover had just two doors, and to celebrate their 70th Anniversary this year Land Rover are taking the Range Rover back to its roots with a new two-door Range Rover SV Coupe.
