Trump and May to meet for talks in Davos

Cyrilwatch: 5 Themes President-In-Waiting Is Making His Own

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will be visiting Switzerland on January 22 to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, press department at the Government reported.

Before his departure, Mr Modi said India's engagement with the outside world in recent years "has become effectively multi-dimensional" and that these will boost further strengthen economic ties with various countries.

Ramaphosa pledged yesterday that during his visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos this month, he would invite worldwide investors to buy into South African businesses. This year's event will feature speeches from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Theresa May, and others.

"In addition to the keynote address, Modi will also have bilateral meeting with Swiss President Alain Berset".

The Davos paper said Trump's administration believed "unfair" trade had led to large trade deficits and job losses, but policies based on such thinking could end up harming the people they aimed to help.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (MoS) Dr. Jitendra Singh and MoS, External Affairs M.J Akbar will also visit Davos and hold various sessions during the WEF summit.

The Indian Ambassador also mentioned that two Yog-gurus have arrived here from India, who will be giving training sessions here. "If a bilateral free trade agreement allows a country to meet more of its needs by importing at lower costs from a particular partner, it will benefit", the authors write, "even if the value of these increased imports exceeds the value of the exports that it sells to that partner". "Similar issues were raised by Tamil Nadu and even Maharashtra ruled by Congress at that time", he said in an interview to Zee News channel.

Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan, for a change, would not be seen serenading heroines with his signature "open-arm" charm on Swiss Alps, but will rather talk about creating a change in India through women empowerment.
