'Demand an End' initiative to raise awareness against sex trafficking

The Arizona Attorney General is partnering with truck drivers for training and stickers that will help victims call for rescue

In order to truly abolish human trafficking, we must treat the issue as the modern-day slavery that it is.

The effort of the Freedom Drivers Project is to save the men, women and children who are enslaved by human trafficking. The group says human trafficking exists everywhere on earth, including Cape Cod.

Senator Steve Daines is supporting legislation to crackdown on online sex trafficking. Human trafficking is silently plaguing the nation and the terrifying industry continues to grow right in our own backyard.

Human trafficking comes in many different forms and can affect every demographic.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and Montana Attorney General Tim Fox says there has been a marked increase in the number of human trafficking cases in Montana over the past year. "It not only raises awareness, but the posters we hand out could be part of saving lives". "In addition, Demand An End aims to aid in the training of law enforcement and judicial officials so that they are better equipped to investigate, arrest, recognize and aggressively prosecute buyers and traffickers".

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport officers are trained by the Department of Homeland security to spot human trafficking victims in airports.

"Alabamians can also play a valuable role in combating human trafficking by being aware of suspicious activity in public places and reporting it promptly to local law enforcement", added Attorney General Marshall. "A lot of times, we affiliate tattoos with gangs, but when you look at some of the traffickers, they will brand their victims". "Human trafficking is not someone else's problem, it is a crime against our children and our society".
