Samsung Slammed With Guilty Verdict in Huawei Patent Lawsuit

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has won a patent victory over its South Korean rival Samsung.

AT&T spokesman Fletcher Cook declined to comment.

That doesn't bode well for the company's U.S. prospects. On Tuesday, the company announced Gadot's endorsement at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, saying Ms. Gadot will serve as the company's first "Chief Experience Officer".

But plans of a business deal evaporated this week after concerns about security and ties to the Chinese government, according to reports by The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

The letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, which was signed by 18 lawmakers, noted concerns about Chinese companies in the USA telecommunications industry.

"The U.S. market presents unique challenges for Huawei, and while the HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro will not be sold by U.S. carriers, we remain committed to this market now and in the future", it said. He emphasized its features, including its faster speeds, longer battery life, rapid charging capability and a camera that recognizes objects and adjusts using artificial intelligence.

The Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has hit a major stumbling block in its United States expansion plans, with its first deal with an American carrier apparently falling through because of political pressure. "We've proven our quality, we've proven our privacy and security protection". The Dallas-based telecom company reviewed a mobile phone chip set made by the manufacturer.

Huawei's plans for growth in the USA led to heightened scrutiny by Congress.

Huawei's also got a winking bit of kinship with the actress in that both parties have had some issue with pronunciation here in the States, a fact that will play a role in the company's upcoming marketing.

AT&T has been pressed to give up the deal after 18 US Senate and US Intelligence Committee members have signed a letter to regulators expressing concerns about Chinese companies' engagement in the US telecommunications sector.

While Huawei has been selling unlocked units of their flagships through online stores in the USA, they are yet to carry out sales through major carriers like AT&T - which remains to be a popular choice among Americans when purchasing new handsets. Huawei said it complies with the law.
