Carabao Cup Semi-Final, Chelsea vs Arsenal

Ross Barkley

As they gear up for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final across London, we look at five lessons Arsene Wenger's side should have learned from their last five trips.

The Chile global, who started last Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw with Antonio Conte's side, will start among the substitutes at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea and Arsenal play out their third draw of the season as neither side is able to break the deadlock in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are expected to start a very strong team as they were embarrassed by Nottingham Forest in FA Cup this past weekend which they lost 4-2.

The Gunners got the better of Chelsea in the FA Cup final and Community Shield a year ago.

Wenger was watching from the press box as he serves his touchline ban and the Gunners boss was shifting anxiously in his seat early on when Hazard's pass gave Alvaro Morata an opportunity that he drove into the side-netting.

However, Arsenal will now be sweating on Wilshere's fitness after he limped off during the Gunners' clash with Chelsea.

Victor Moses twice went close before the half-hour mark, firing a well-hit shot right at David Ospina and clattering one off the Arsenal keeper's post minutes later as the goalless stalemate continued.

The Video Assistant Referee was used during the match and it proved Arsenal should not be awarded a penalty after a perceived Moses foul on Maitland-Miles. The former Everton attacking midfielder is still recovering from him hamstring injury.

Chelsea were piecing together their most convincing spell of pressure, but they couldn't find the finishing touch as Morata's powerful effort was well saved by Ospina.

When Christensen headed wide of an open goal after Ospina misjudged a corner, Conte must have feared it wouldn't be Chelsea's night.
