Mohamed Salah to kids in Africa: Never stop dreaming

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

Salah was the central figure for Egypt as they finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations. "I had wonderful moments at Roma and Liverpool".

Salah, who moved to Liverpool at the beginning of the 17/18 season for a reported fee of 42 million euros, is on form for both club and country.

In the penultimate round of World Cup qualifying, Salah scored the brace that edged Congo Brazzaville in Alexandria, including the stoppage-time victor from a penalty that sealed a trip to Russian Federation.

Salah was the favourite to win the award having made an incredible impact at Liverpool since joining the club from Italian side AS Roma over the summer.

Salah became the second Egyptian in history to win the prestigious award after Al Ahly legend Mahmoud El-Khatib in 1983.
