LAPD called to inspect "suspicious" package addressed to Treasury Secretary

LAPD Confirms Someone Sent Horse Manure in Holiday Gift Wrap to US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin

Los Angeles Police Department's bomb squad was called to Mnuchin's neighborhood and, according to Associated Press, the package turned out to contain horse manure.

The Mnuchin's have a home in Bel Air and law enforcement scrambled to his address Saturday night after a suspicious package addressed to the Treasury Secretary was found in a neighbor's driveway.

The Secret Service was also involved due to the connection to Mnuchin.

Treasury Secretary nominee, Steven Mnuchin, testifies during his Senate Finance committee confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill, on January 19, 2017 in Washington, DC.

An LAPD bomb squad X-rayed the package before opening it and found the horse manure inside, police told local media. Police haven't released additional information about the package. Most famously, he was pictured showing off money with his signature on them to his wife, Louise Linton.

Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, Mnuchin's neighbor and widower of the late Zsa Zsa Gabor, said he was stuck in his house for two hours because of the package.

The Secret Service is investigating the incident.
