New Overwatch Skins And Mode Coming Soon In Winter Wonderland Event

Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back with an exciting game mode

As happened past year, the winter holiday event, Overwatch Winter Wonderland will also take place this month, bringing a new PvE mode, new skins, and cosmetics for all Overwatch Heroes.

This means that is you didn't pick up the skins that were available for the Winter Wonderland event in 2016, you'll have a second chance at grabbing them come December 12.

The event begins on December 13. Kaplan teased some new skins in particular for Junkrat, Roadhog and a long awaited skin for Hanzo, based on a look previously featured in the Overwatch comics series.

As of right now, we also have no confirmed date for when the Winter Wonderland event will draw to a close. Items from the previous year will be discounted and cheaper than the new items, similar to this year's Halloween event which also features the previous Halloween themed collections at a discounted rate.

Among the things to expect this time around is the decorated version of the Black Forest map, and the Overwatch team is making the best of what they have by including the King's Row and Hanamura maps sprinkled with Christmas décor and snow again. Mei's Snowball Offensive is moving to 6v6 on The Black Forest, where it has been changed to single elimination mode.

The featured addition will be a new mode called Mei's Yeti Hunt, which will see five Meis take on a Yeti in the form of Winston wearing a special skin.

Blizzard is also introducing Mei's Yeti Hunt. Taking place in Nepal, the Winston is out to find meat littered around the map to charge his Primal Rage ability, whilst the Mei's are trying to find him and stop him from doing so. "But the point of some of these seasonal brawls are just to be fun and light and refreshing for a short period of time", Kaplan said. This month, last year's Winter Wonderland event will be returning to bring holiday cheer to the first-person shooter.
