Father of missing 3-year-old girl speaks out

AMBER Alert issued for missing 3-year-old girl

Early Wednesday morning, authorities released photos of a woman and child at a Walmart in Morehead City, N.C.in an attempt to determine if Mariah was the girl in the photo.

A 3-year-old North Carolina girl has been missing for over 24 hours after she was believed to be taken from her bed in the middle of the night on Monday.

She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Woods lives with her mother and her mother's live-in boyfriend on Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Mariah's mom says she woke up Monday morning and noticed her daughter was missing from her bedroom.

9 On Your Side has a reporter headed to the scene and will bring you updates as soon as they become available.

"Someone just walked right up in there, grabbed the 3-year-old out of the bed and she didn't cry, she didn't scream?"

She said Mariah has "walking difficulties".

Family members said Mariah has an orthopedic leg problem, so when she walks her left leg is thrown around and causes her to wobble.

The girl's mother, Kristy Woods, said she last saw her at about 11 p.m. Sunday. Woods said. "Nobody heard anything?"

The Sheriff's Office checked with Mariah's biological father but said he does not have the girl. "She's my baby, she's my everything", she said.

Anne Edwards, a family friend, said Mariah is a sweet child, but shy with strangers, according to WRAL.

Wrongdoing Stoppers in Onslow County is putting forth a $2,500 remunerate for data that prompts finding the little child.

The girl's two older brothers made it to school safely.

Ms Woods said her daughter was a "little angel" with a talkative personality.
