Google Pixel smartphones gets smart battery features

Pixel phones are getting personalized battery life estimates see how the new feature works

Google is using machine learning to improve the accuracy and credibility of its battery-life predictions on the Pixel. However, Michelle admitted that the method is not very accurate and battery usage may differ for users at different times of the day.

Google has now switched to an on-device model that will continually monitor your battery life over time. Having the best phone in the world, which we might do with Pixel handsets, means nought if you're caught out with a flat battery.

Google's shiny new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is the first phones shipping with Google's stock goodness in Android 8.0, but if you are still rocking one of the first generation Pixels then there is a good news for you.

On Android phones by default, your estimated remaining battery life is based on pretty simple use habits. You may even see your usage and behavior on certain periods of time.

So it looks like the battery life predictions on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL should be more accurate in the future, you can find out more information over at Google at the link below.

Those interested in checking out the revised predictions can head to the Settings menu on a Pixel device and check under the Battery section. In October, the search giant came up with Device Health Services, a battery management application, and this new model is expected to have added that. People can view the percent of battery left as well as how many hours the device is expected to last.

There are a lot of things that make Google's Pixel phones great, but at the end of the day, a lot of their greatness boils down to the software experience that they offer.

The Google Pixel smartphones have received positive reviews in many aspects but there is one major problem that many users face. The Pixel team's Product Manager has just announced an update was released recently for the phones that will improve battery life.
