Donald Trump Is Blaming Jared Kushner For The Mueller Investigation

President Donald J. Trump is the 45th President of the United States

Donald Trump has been reported to be angry with Jared Kushner as the probe into alleged interference during the US Presidential election continues to hang over his administration.

Vanity Fair is reporting that Trump, when speaking on the phone to former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, pointed a finger at Kushner and blamed him for decisions like firing National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and FBI Director James Comey.

President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump departing from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv in May.

Kushner, Trump's senior adviser, has reportedly turned over documents in recent weeks to special counsel Robert Mueller, leading the inquiry, according to CNN.

Those events were among the factors that led the Justice Department to name a special counsel to run the probe, Robert Mueller.

Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 U.S. election - and whether Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow to influence the outcome - led to the indictments on Monday of Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and Manafort's past business associate Rick Gates.

Meanwhile, sources close to the White House told CNN that based on their knowledge, Kushner was not a target of Mueller's investigation.

As the Kushner report was coming out, Trump called the New York Times Wednesday afternoon and told reporters Maggie Haberman and Peter Baker that, "I'm actually not angry at anybody".

"Trump is at 33pc in Gallup". "I'm only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress". You can't go any lower. Many days begin with a "general conversation" about it before they start other business, "but it is very distracting for him". The White House declined to comment.

Former White House officials are barred from "contacting any part of the executive branch, including the president, with the intent to influence official decisions in any particular party matter in which the former official participated personally", according to the attorneys. Firing Mueller would reveal his own guilt and that fact has made the President a spectator as the investigation continues to escalate.

They appeared in federal court in Washington on Thursday.

But in the more immediate term, there is the matter of Thanksgiving and the potential for some uncomfortable dinner table moments between the president and Jared.
