O'Reilly Says He Regrets Settling Sex Harassment Case

That's when he mentioned Bolling's son, who was found dead in early September in an apartment in Boulder, Colorado, where he was a college student. On Friday, the New York Times reported on the latest, a $32 million payout to former Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl, which the network made before re-signing O'Reilly to a four-year contract. He's said he's "mad at god" for not protecting him from the repercussions of his own actions.

Mr O'Reilly asserts that in the more than 20 years he worked at Fox News, "not one complaint was filed against him with the Human Resources Department or Legal Department by a coworker, even on the anonymous hotline".

O'Reilly then invoked the death of Bolling's 19-year-old son Eric Chase Bolling to win sympathy for his argument that he was the victim of a liberal conspiracy to ruin his life, which in turn was devastating his children.

"I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper".

"I believe it is beyond inappropriate for anyone to bring in the tragic death of my son Eric Chase Bolling".

The news also comes as regulators have yet to approve 21st Century Fox's bid to take full control of the European satellite television giant Sky, a deal that is reportedly worth $15 billion.

The presenter, who was sacked from Fox News in April, is thought to have made settlements with at least six women since 2004.

In his interview with the Times, O'Reilly grasped at media reports that said the young man had endured "emotional torture" over the allegations against his father.

She continued: "Perhaps he didn't realize his exact attitude of shaming women into shutting the hell up about harassment on grounds that it will disgrace the company is in part how Fox News got into the decade-long [Roger] Ailes mess to begin with". The way he did this was by essentially blaming them for the death of Eric Bolling's son. "The coroner has in fact indicated to us that they believe it was an accident". Of course, Sean Hannity can be seen lashing out at "spiked" stories about Weinstein from the mainstream media, and he asks, "How many women could have been protected, had they done their job?"

O'Reilly apologized to Bolling on Twitter Monday evening for his previous comments. "I wish this stuff didn't happen". I can't explain it to you.

O'Reilly has said previously that he wished he hadn't settled such cases.
