Gemma Collins explains how she survived horror fall

Gemma Collins falls down a hole on stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards

Meanwhile, despite her words, Gemma was pictured returning to filming just one day after her horror fall at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.

While presenting a prize at the Radio 1 Teen Awards at Wembley, the TOWIE star literally fell down a hole.

As she announced Love Island as the victor of the Best TV award, she lost the run of herself totally, stepping back into a big gaping hole in the stage.

Fans immediately rushed to the internet to announce that Gemma is "the gift that keeps on giving", while others urged her to send the footage to You've Been Framed and cash in on a sweet £250. After announcing that Love Island had won the award, the 35-year-old stepped sideways and fell through the trapdoor, crashing into the emerging Love Island cast before disappearing entirely beneath the stage. Yes, I stacked it on stage.

She said: "Madonna done it and I done it".

"It was my left side that hit as I went down". Sharing a picture with her followers, she wrote: "Guys it was all worth it cause I got a selfie with RITA ORA #lifegoals off to bed now I'm in agony and need to rest". "Best and worse moment for me".

"However, I am in a bit of pain this morning, I'm not going to lie". She shared a photograph depicting a mock National Helpline poster which showed Gemma moments before her fall.

Ben Shephard tentatively asked: "In all seriousness, there is quite a big hole there you've fallen down, maybe the Love Island guests saved you as you squashed them on the way in?"

"It's just one of these moments I don't think I'll ever live down". The poor girl there almost got totally crushed.

After her mishap on Sunday, Gemma compared herself to her idol Bridget Jones, declaring her little accident only further proves what she always believed: she is the fictional heroine "in an Essex girl".
