India, Australia to lock horns for series decider in Hyderbad

How & Where to Watch India vs Australia 3rd T20I in Hyderabad

A Meteorological official was quoted in a PTI report saying, "The forecast is possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with rain today (Thursday) and a light to moderate rain tomorrow".

As the match was called off, the series ended 1-1.

The Match has been called off!

The three-match Twenty20 global series between India and Australia ended 1-1 after the final match was abandoned without a ball being bowled, due to a wet outfield in Hyderabad on Friday.

Hello everyone and welcome to live coverage of the 3rd T20 between India and Australia.

From around two hours before the scheduled start of the game (7 PM IST), ground staff were covering up vast brown patches all around the outfield with sawdust.

Ultimately they headed home disappointed, with the outfield deemed unsafe for play, to the obvious disappointment of India captain Virat Kohli. Though it did not rain in this part of the city since Friday morning, Hyderabad has been consistently pounded by rain in the last couple of weeks. According to sources, pedestal fans had been used on the eve of the match to dry the outfield.

The tourists won by eight wickets in the second ODI on Tuesday after a nine-wicket Duckworth-Lewis loss in the opener.

However, more than 29,000 spectators who came to watch the match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium had to go back without witnessing any cricket.

India were the far better side in the ODIs, winning the five-match series 4-1; but the T20Is has been a mixed bag so far.

India: Virat Kohli (capt), Rohit Sharma (vice-capt), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Axar Patel.
