The main reason cited for her death are numerous co-morbid conditions including heart diseases and kidney dysfunction, as confirmed by the officials of the Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Egyptian women Eman Ahmed, heaviest woman, died on Monday at an Abu Dhabi hospital, merely a week after she completed 37. She had celebrated her birthday on September 9. His proposed three-and-a-half year plan including two operations to help her reduce her weight to less than 220 pounds (100kg).

Her family said that before her surgery she had not left her home for 25 years. The doctor said only after achieving some weight loss should the surgery option have been considered.

Doctors said her weight was caused by a thyroid condition. "They were also grateful to the rulers and people of the UAE for their support ro Ms Eman during her treatment in Abu Dhabi". She hailed from Egypt and weighed approximately 500 kg. However, after her sister accused the Saifee hospital of improper treatment, she was flown for further treatment to Abu Dhabi.

Ms Selim had started a social media campaign to seek help for her sister, but when she was refused a visa to India for her treatment bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala stepped in.

Eman Ahmed reached the massive weight after being born with a condition that left her constantly hungry. Her former doctor at Saifee Hospital had clashed with the woman's family during her hospitalization. "The surgery itself was the biggest risk to her, besides other issues that come with extreme obesity".
