Mankato Man One of Three Arrested in Missing Teen Case

Police issued a press release saying Jasmine Block was found in rural Grant County on Tuesday. Block lost her shoes and trousers while swimming in Thompson Lake and anglers are asked to report any clothing floating in the lake or on the shoreline. Police said three men - Thomas Barker, Steven Powers and Joshua Holby - are accused of kidnapping and assaulting the girl.

She was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and has been reunited with her family.

Charges filed Thursday allege 32-year-old Thomas Barker kidnapped the 15-year-old August 8 by tricking her into thinking he needed help.

Police say Block knew Barker and got into his vehicle when he said he needed help. Barker also threatened her with weapons. There, Wyffels says Block was repeatedly physically and sexually assaulted.

"She's an unbelievable woman with a lot of strength", Wyffels said.

News station KARE reported that the suspects left the teen alone for the first time on Tuesday, allowing her the opportunity to escape.

Authorities said that the 15-year-old was acquainted with at least one of the suspects. She then ran to a farm, where a man called 911. Holby, who also lived in the home, also took part in the assaults, as did Powers, who came to Barker's home two weeks after the abduction, police said.

The three suspects are being held on probable cause for kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault. When she returned, Jasmine was gone but her belongings were still at home.

A farmer who requested anonymity told WCCO he was on his way to work on Tuesday when he realized he forgot something and turned back, only to find Block standing in the grass at the back of his property.

It shows the 15-year-old wrapped in a blue blanket, standing next to her mother with a slight smile on her face.

The teenager had been the subject of an extensive search after disappearing from her home.

In a follow-up post, the parent thanked law enforcement officials for staying on top of the missing person case and even working on their days off to help bring her daughter home. We think a lot of her family - her mom was strong through this whole time and consistent and never gave up. She then jumped into the Thompson Lake and swam across.

The farmer made a decision to help her, he said, "It was just a great feeling, (I told her) 'just get in the pickup, we're going to help you now'".
