The mother found the child, who was pronounced dead the scene, fire Capt. Larry Subervi said in a statement.

On Saturday, medical responders arrived at the Free Church of God in Christ parking lot on the southside of Phoenix, where they found an unconscious 1-year-old boy inside a vehicle.

Two infants have died inside hot cars in Phoenix within two days, as temperatures topped 100 degrees in the city.

No arrests have been made.

The high temperature in Phoenix was 103 degrees on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Even then family members said that began gathering in the church to support parents shortly after this happened.

That baby has been identified as Zane Endress.

The boy was pronounced dead a short time later.

Since 1998, 729 children left in vehicles have died of heatstroke, according to NoHeatStroke.org, an organization that tracks the deaths of children in hot vehicles.

Since that time, the highest number of deaths per year was in 2010, with 49 deaths. And the justice system must sort out whether the parent's actions fell on the wrong side of the law.

Sgt. Mercedes Fortune added "make sure that anybody who enters that auto, for whatever reason, just take the time to actually look and examine the vehicle".

"We hear that parents are saying they forgot their babies in their vehicles", she said, according to the Republic. "Again, look inside your vehicle before you put it in drive and before you go anywhere, so you can avoid these tragedies".
