'No more transgenders in USA military' - Trump announces on Twitter

Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Republican, said, "No American, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be prohibited from the honor + privilege of serving our nation".

"There's a reason why Secretary (James) Mattis did not issue this, there is a reason why no general made a decision to talk about this, because it's embarrassing and it's dumb", Gallego said.

He reasoned that the government "cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail", though studies have refuted those claims.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was peppered with questions about how Trump's announcement will affect service members and their families.

Trump's tweets especially stunned the Bay Area with its progressive politics and mounting resistance to the Trump administration's policies.

McCain criticized the lack of clarity in Trump's messages.

Every late-night comedian who aired a new episode on July 26 expressed their shock and even horror at Donald Trump announcing via Twitter that he wants to ban trans people from the military - but only one invited a trans comedian on his show to take it on with their own jokes. "The statement was unclear". "I was able and fit and I wanted to do it". And, the impact of his words sparked emergency protests in the streets of San Francisco, home to one of the largest and most high-profile transgender communities in the country.

"I feel hurt for those that are a part of the transgender sub community, they're willing to lay their life down for the country and now they're being told that they can't simply because of who they are", said Martinez. "I don't care what's in someone's trousers, I don't care who they love, I care, can they get the job done?" I proudly stand with the transgender troops serving in the U.S military, you make us proud to be American!

"Donald Trump's tweets are not self-executing in this context", Kilar said.

Stefanik has a record of backing transgender rights in the military.

By 7pm (local time), dozens of people were there and included tourists, office employees who worked nearby and transgender veterans. He threatened legal action if Wednesday's decision is not reversed.

In a series of tweets, he blamed "disruption" and "tremendous medical costs" for introducing the policy. That constitutes a 0.13 percent increase.

Brewer, whose husband serves at Fort Belvoir, said she's anxious that Trump's decision will mean that Tricare, the military's health care system, will cut coverage of her daughter's treatment. "It's not something that is a serious concern for anyone".
