Trump's new message man once called him 'hack politician'

New White House Communications Director Scaramucci takes questions at the daily briefing at the White House in Washington

In his Sunday talk shows debut, the newly minted White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci continuously contradicted himself - and others in the Trump administration - as he seemed to struggle with keeping several White House stories straight. "You're going to delegitimize his victory?"

This came the same day Scaramucci vowed to take "dramatic action" to stop press leaks from anonymous White House sources.

Scaramucci said he meant to review the intelligence community's evidence once he had his security clearance and pledged to give Trump his personal thoughts on the conclusions.

"I love how you're talking to one specific viewer right now, the most important audience that there is", Tapper said sarcastically.

SCARAMUCCI: How about it was the president, Jake? "He was just making the statement about the power of the pardon".

Scaramucci said he was going to usher in "an era of new good feeling" in the White House press corps.

He added, "If I said some things about (Trump) when I was working for another candidate, Mr. Trump, Mr. President, I apologize for that". The Communications Director's answer: he wasn't sure if Trump could do that, but it was a "stupid hypothetical" because POTUS committed no wrongdoing. So if you guys want to keep leaking, why don't you guys all get together and make a decision as a team that you're going to stop leaking?

"He called me from Air Force One and he basically said to me, 'Hey, you know, this is - maybe they did do it, maybe they didn't do it, '" he said.

He said things are going to be different in the Communications Department, adding the entire Russian Federation probe has no merit.

Congressional Republicans and Democrats announced Saturday they had reached an agreement on a sweeping Russian Federation sanctions package to punish Moscow for meddling in the presidential election and its military aggression in Ukraine and Syria. He then moved on to describe Sarah Sanders' job performance as press secretary.

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace asked Scaramucci why Trump tweeted about his "complete power" to pardon last week if no crimes had been committed. Apparently Trump still likes to say that if Russians really were responsible for the hacks of the Democratic National Committee no one would have found out about it because they would not have gotten caught. On Saturday, House and Senate negotiators announced an agreement on the bill.
