Activists Disrupt Woody Allen Concert in Germany

Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band perform at Royal Albert Hall

He has been touring with The New Orleans Jazz Band and tickets for the performance have been selling for as high as $200.

Two topless women, members of the women's rights activist group FEMEN, stormed the stage. Allen, who has denied abusing Dylan Farrow, later married Mia Farrow's adoptive daughter Soon-Yi Previn. In an open letter published in the New York Times in 2014, Farrow, for the first time, publicly accused the Oscar-winning director of abusing her when she was seven years old.

"If a perpetrator is a much-celebrated so-called artist genius, then the supposed social value of his creativity has more weight in society than the statements of women who are only women and daughters in his possession", the blog post continues.

The act was meant to, "remind the world and jazz fans sitting in the audience that he is not just the neurotic and charming director, musician and actor", the group wrote on its Facebook page.

A spokesman for the venue contacted by AFP confirmed the disruption but declined to comment further. The prosecutor who oversaw the investigation has said that he had probable cause to file charges, but that he did not do so because a trial would have been exhausting and debilitating for what he described as the "child victim".

In video clips of the incident shared to YouTube, the crowd can be heard booing the women as they pace around the Elbphilharmonie concert hall stage for a few minutes.

The New York filmmaker was confronted with the issue again a year ago at the Cannes film festival, where his movie "Cafe Society" opened the glitzy event.
