Arab powers add people, groups with Qatar links to terrorism lists

"We were surprised", Ambassador Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani said Tuesday, according to The Daily Beast.

"No one has the right to intervene in our foreign policy", Sheikh Mohammed said.

Those two, Sa'd al-Ka'bi and Abd al-Latif al-Kawari, are among dozens of individuals and entities named Friday by Saudi Arabia and its three allies. The Kuwaiti leader went to the UAE and Qatar on June 7 for talks on the crisis and is now back in Kuwait.

"So good to see the Saudi Arabia visit with the King and 50 countries already paying off", Trump continued.

"The previous emir is a big supporter of this whole extremist agenda, so we do have an issue", the official said. "Perhaps this will be the beginning of the end of the horror of terrorism!" On Wednesday, the White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump called Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani offering to serve as a mediator to help the parties resolve the crisis between Doha and Arab countries by inviting them to the White House for a meeting, if necessary. Home to some 10,000 troops, Al-Udeid is central to the US-led fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, means of enhancing them and joint efforts exerted to combat terrorism and extremism, in addition to the developments on the regional and global arenas.

Kuwait's emir is working to mediate the Gulf crisis around Qatar, which is home to a major USA military base and is the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. "We appreciate the role that they are playing in trying to de-escalate it".

Yemen, the Maldives and Libya's eastern-based government followed suit later that day, further complicating tensions in the Middle East.

Qatar has yet to receive any list of demands from the Arab countries that have cut ties, Sheikh Mohammed said.

The U.S. has a massive air base in Qatar's capital city of Doha, with hosts as many as 10,000 American military personnel.

Qatar said on Thursday fellow Arab states' move to isolate it in a row over alleged ties to terrorism is endangering stability in the Gulf region but it was not ready to change its foreign policy to settle the dispute and would never compromise.
