Antonio Conte to light a cigar if Chelsea complete the double

After finishing outside the top four in the league for the first time since arriving in England way back in 1996, hoisting the trophy above his head for the seventh time would certainly go some way to salvaging what has been a disappointing campaign for the Gunners.

When the sides met again at Stamford Bridge in early February, Chelsea outplayed Arsenal to win 3-1, getting goals from Marcus Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas before the visitors netted a late consolation.

"I think this situation for sure creates a bit of difficulty in your mind because if you start to think we are always in danger, we have died before we die", said the Italian. You come to my home, you will be surprised, ' he revealed. "There is no trophy, no medal, nothing", Wenger said.

"I give them always out".

"There is always a guy at the club who did not get a medal - a member of staff - so I have given it to him".

'So you are always a medal short and you will always find someone who takes it'.

Wenger said: "Maybe one day I will have to look back".

I came back from injury snarling.

"You would not even guess that I am a football manager. I just want to enjoy my football". I am completely in football.

"We want to prove that the club is one of the best in the world". I thought I can compensate with my experience. "That is more shared emotions and things like that".

With his contract due to expire and no news forthcoming about his future, today's game could provide an opportunity for a golden send-off - not that Wenger will be disclosing his plans in advance.

FC's Arsenal correspondent Mattias Karen feels Wenger will remain with Arsenal despite how they fare in the final.

"One of the big problems in the modern society is that the big companies sit there not any more to make the decisions that are good for the company but is it popular or not?" I want to win the cup for my club and that's all I care about. "I will not always manage but I will always be involved in the game". All the rest for me is artificial debate.

"It was a different game [away] and we perhaps let individuals have a bit too much space".

Club captain Mertesacker, 32, made his first appearance of 2016-17 in last week's 3-1 defeat of Everton, appearing as a substitute after injury to Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny's sending-off.

Chelsea finished the league season seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur and 18 points above Arsenal - an outcome Conte admits was practically unthinkable at the time. "But it is true that Chelsea in the neutrals' opinions might be the favourites".

"We think we're good enough to beat Arsenal, but it's not going to be an easy game".

Now, Chelsea stand on the brink of a league and cup double while Arsenal are looking for redemption after missing out on the top four for the first time since 1996.

It was a 3-0 loss at Arsenal which served as a spur for Chelsea's season, with Conte reacting by introducing the 3-4-3 formation which has served them so well.

Hazard suggested that a strong transfer window and the chance to win the Champions League next season could be key factors in keeping him in London. Indirectly, I'll be happy if we do. "I'm kidding. Whoever comes in, we'll be ready for the new season".
