Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively's surprise appearance on 'SNL'

And of all the people in the administration who have been comedy gold, Sean Spicer tops the list, given Melissa McCarthy's hilarious impression of the White House press secretary on "Saturday Night Live".

Spicey quickly regretted his appearance once the press began to hurl questions on the controversial firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Amid rumors the real-life Trump may fire his press secretary, this latest Spicer sketched ended with her character receiving a mafia "kiss of death" from Alec Baldwin's Trump.

Footage of McCarthy's upcoming "SNL" performance has apparently already gotten out, as she appears to be cruising through New York City on a motorized podium.

Then, on Saturday, McCarthy's Spicer returned to SNL in a hilarious 8-minute sketch that was viewed more than 6 million times on YouTube at the time of this writing.

The question first made McCarthy's Spicer go ballistic, ripping a column down and throwing it at the press corps, but then it and other questions about whether Trump was lying to the faux press secretary made Spicer rethink everything.

"I know we think this every week, but this week was insane", says Colin Jost, in kicking off Weekend Update.

And while SNL writers anxious that it would be too soon to bring her back the following week, there was more to tackle: A new controversy erupted over the White House response to Nordstrom dropping Ivanka Trump apparel line. Period! Then he hired lawyers to agree with him. "I took vows", says McCarthy's Spicer. Trump might be canceling the Spicer show.

Translation: a ideal opportunity for Melissa McCarthy to return to "Saturday Night Live" and completely skewer Spicer in another brutal sketch. In fact the possibility Spicer may soon be hearing the words "You're Fired!" from Trump was a big part of "SNL's" sketch last night. "You are articulate and charming, whereas Sean is bullish", a reporter adds. He initially refuses because he's married, but when Trump reassures him that it's fine because he's famous, they lock lips. Cast member Mikey Day - playing Paul Ryan - arrived in the middle of the Holt interview as the president's own personal Good Humor man. McCarthy got a great segment out of it, so I don't want to oversell how selfless it felt.

Asks McCarthy's Spicer: "Is this like 'The Godfather, ' where you kiss me and no one ever sees me again?"
