Zelda Breath of the Wild: all details on DLC "Master Trials" pack

Zelda Breath of the Wild: all details on DLC

The first DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be available this summer. Called The Master Trials, it will be available this summer, while the second now unnamed DLC pack launches in Holiday 2017.

The first DLC pack is due out in the American summer (so in next few weeks), while the second, more substantial one is due out later in the year. It will include the "Trial of the Sword," Hard Mode, various in-game tools, and extra equipment.

"Hero's Path Mode" adds a new feature to the map that tracks the player's movements over the previous 200 hours of gameplay. Speaking of map-related shenanigans, we've also got a travel medallion item, allowing you to register your location as a fast-travel spot. Once collected, the medallion creates a new fast-travel point where Link is standing, which Link can be transported to at any point.

Trial of the Sword: By accessing this location, you can challenge the new Trial of the Sword (previously known as "Cave of Trials") where enemies appear one after another. For one, it will include a new Trial of the Sword map where Link will be attacked by wave after wave of enemies. In this mode, Link is more vulnerable and can easily be spotted. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the true power of the Master Sword awakens. Look up, and you may also find enemies and treasure chests in the sky! Perhaps most helpfully, the Korok Mask will help players to discover said hidden, leafy creatures around Hyrule, indicating their presence by vibrating when Link nears them. The player can transport to that point at any time.

The game already has enough replay-ability with the huge open world that it is, but these new modes with promising rewards would keep anyone coming back just to see how far they can get with hard mode.

Late Monday night, Nintendo officially announced the first downloadable content expansion pack for Breath of the Wild, entitled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials, with details on what's included and when to expect it. But now with expansion pass released, the incredible open-air adventure will receive a more engaging content.

Travel Medallion: A treasure chest somewhere in the world will have this new item. With more people finishing the game each day, fans are turning their heads toward the upcoming DLC. The Korok Mask will shake whenever Link is near a hidden Korok, of which there are 900 in the enormous game. And lastly, the new equipment will be themed on characters like Midna and Tingle, as well as games like Phantom Hourglass and Majora's Mask.

Korok Mask: By finding the new Korok Mask, players will have a much easier time finding Korok locations in the game.
