Nintendo Direct Focused on Arms and Splatoon 2 Will Stream This Week

The Splatoon 2 release date will bring Nintendo's first party shooter game to the Nintendo Switch.

Information on Splatoon 2 has been slowly trickling out, and a public "Testfire" demo period took place late last month.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the big Switch game for April but beyond that, the system's release schedule looks a little spotty. New amiibos for the game will launch on the same day. Now, with the Nintendo Switch available to gamers worldwide, they can seek the same services from users that have had enough time to tinker around with the new console's mechanics and code.

This week's Nintendo Direct live-stream will also feature Splatoon 2, the sequel to Nintendo's hugely popular paint-based shooter.

Splatoon 2, however, now that's a game that fits the Switch like a glove. Now, we just need Nintendo to stop scheduling these things at bedtime and then we're golden. Unlike the stationary Wii U, the portable Switch can be brought on-the-go and linked up with other Switches, allowing you to engage in battle with friends in the same room or around the world.

You know how some companies pay would-be hackers and online savvy enthusiasts to find "breaks" in their system so that they can get them patched up? ARMS is a new title for Nintendo, but the first thoughts have been positive. Shifty and if you've not seen anything of it so far, its basically a sort of top-down heist game in the style of Hotline Miami. Tinybuild's top-down action game is a self-proclaimed combination of Hotline Miami and Nightcrawler. "Shifty follows a teleportation-fueled heist to break into the world's most secure facility".

Here's an example of one of the songs I play in the video at the top of this post being played on the hardest difficulty.

Information about the other upcoming Nintendo Switch titles such as Binding of Isaac+ and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Chapter is also reportedly coming out tonight at the Nintendo Direct Conference.
