Cars catch fire in Disneyland parking structure, no word on cause

Seven people were treated for smoke inhalation Monday after a fire at Disneyland's Mickey and Friends parking structure completely torched or damaged at least eight vehicles, according to the Anaheim Police Department. The blaze was in the Mickey & Friends structure, according to Sgt. Daron Wyatt of Anaheim Fire and Rescue.

Gray smoke could be seen pouring out of the structure when the blaze was first reported at about 5 p.m. A few more reportedly had minor damage. Police gave an early damage estimate of $180,000. "I think it was one flight below our auto", said Adam Habie of Placentia. But only one of them was taken to a hospital, and none were considered seriously injured.

Videos captured at the scene showed thick black smoke billowing from the structure and into the early afternoon sky.

Multiple cars were on fire in a Disneyland parking lot Monday evening, officials confirmed.

Seven Disney employees suffered smoke inhalation. "It's more of a nuisance than anything", Darren Clark, whose family of four couldn't get to their auto because of the shutdown, told KNBC-TV.

People were allowed to return to their vehicles at around 7 p.m., Anaheim police said.

The area was evacuated and closed, fire officials said.
