On State and Federal Level, Lawmakers Move to Defund Planned Parenthood

To me, Planned Parenthood implies some planning goes on before jumping into bed.

RICHMOND, Va. - The House of Delegates voted Tuesday to defund Planned Parenthood despite protests by women's rights advocates on the Capitol grounds and in the House chamber.

Live Action is spending $500,000 to share these video exposés with the public. So, while women may come in for one reason, they come back for other services.

In Virginia, Planned Parenthood clinics provide contraceptive care to thousands of low-income women each year, according to Anna Scholl, executive director of Progress Virginia.

"For years, our nation has debated life and abortion - at a minimum we should agree that no taxpayer should be forced to fund the largest provider of abortion in the country with their hard-earned tax dollars", Lankford said January 30. Former Sherman, Texas, Planned Parenthood manager Ramona Treviño disclosed that this "retraining" was actually a way in which the abortion giant tried to teach staff to recognize undercover journalists.

Congressional Republicans pledged early this year to strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding through the budget reconciliation process.

This video, "Planned Parenthood's Abortion Quotas", is the fourth in Live Action's series "Abortion Corporation".

Read the tested and proven strategies to defeat the abortion cartel, in "Abortion Free: Your Manual for Building a Pro-Life America One Community at a Time."

Abby Johnson, who worked for eight years at a clinic in Texas before leaving Planned Parenthood in 2009, told The Christian Post last year that Planned Parenthood even fired employees if clinics could not meet abortion quotas. "If they wanted to reduce the abortion rates, they wouldn't impose abortion quotas inside their facilities".

"I trained my staff the way that I was trained, which was to really encourage women to choose abortion, to have it at Planned Parenthood because that counts as - you know, towards our goal", said Thayer, who previously ran a Storm Lake, Iowa, Planned Parenthood. "If you don't meet your quota, people get fired and you don't get your big bonus". In a press conference February 2 on Capitol Hill, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said: "The dark deception of Planned Parenthood continues to make tragic victims of unborn babies and their mothers".

"There is not an exact formula". That was after probably about two to three months, they started cutting people. I learned, I grew and I took care of myself, and here I am in my 60s forever grateful. The legislation "ensures that hospitals, federally qualified health clinics and rural health clinics are funded prior to abortion centers", he said.
