Syria : 7 Children from West Aleppo killed in Rebel Fire !

Smoke rises from a rebel held neighbourhood of Aleppo, Syria on November 17.

In a meeting Sunday with France's Foreign Minister Jean Marc Ayrault, former Syrian prime minister Riyadh Hijab, now an opposition negotiator, urged an end to the offensive on eastern Aleppo by government forces, Russian Federation and Iran.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem said the proposal was "completely rejected" as a violation of "national sovereignty" after meeting with U.N. Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura on Sunday in Damascus.

Earlier Sunday, at least eight children were killed when rockets struck a school in government-held western Aleppo, the Observatory said.

Syrian regime forces advanced quickly in rebel-held areas of Aleppo on Monday, pressing a new offensive in defiance of worldwide concern over the fate of the city and its residents.

He said 10 students were killed on the attack, while the state-run news agency SANA put the number at eight.

The rebel fire was the motive of some Opposition Forces in Syria that have captured the Eastern Part of the City and regularly target such places to display their cruel nature to the world. The opposition now holds the eastern part of the city.

The Observatory says at least 103 civilians have been killed in east Aleppo since the latest government assault began.

Aid agencies fear that instead of a humanitarian or a political initiative there will be "an acceleration of military activities" in eastern Aleppo and elsewhere, de Mistura told journalists.

"By Christmas. due to military intensification, you will have the virtual collapse of what is left in eastern Aleppo; you may have 200,000 people moving towards Turkey - that would be a humanitarian catastrophe".

Meanwhile, Turkey called on the United States and other nations to rethink its proposal for a no-fly zone in northern Syria hours after a rebel commander allied with Syria's Kurds said Turkish air strikes killed one fighter and wounded others.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday condemned "the reported intense air assault over the last several days that has killed and maimed scores of Syrian civilians, including children, and left eastern Aleppo without functioning hospitals".

The city has been divided between government control in the west and rebel control in the east since mid-2012. Two of the eastern Aleppo hospitals that are already out of service were attacked, activists said today.

"These unacceptable violations of global humanitarian law could amount to war crimes and must cease, and the airstrikes must be stopped to allow humanitarian aid delivery into East Aleppo and the evacuation of wounded civilians".

On Sunday they advanced into the Hanano district on its northern edge, but rebels said the battle was still continuing and that some of the pro-government forces' gains had been reversed.

On Sunday, Syrian regime forces pounded the rebel-held areas in and around the city of Aleppo with airstrikes and artillery shelling, according to Syria Civil Defense, killing 32 people and bringing the total death toll in a week-long bombardment campaign to over 300.

"Thank God, the basement is what protected us against any of our staff or patients getting injured", he told AP in a series of text messages.
