Who I like, Steelers vs. Ravens

Chris Moore #10 of the Baltimore Ravens celebrates his first quarter touchdown with teammates Chris Matthews #84 and Javorius Allen #37 against the New York Jets at Met Life Stadium

The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in an AFC North tilt in week 9 National Football League action.

So much for all those outlandish reports of the Pittsburgh Steelers dealing with a long-term injury to Ben Roethlisberger.

He ran a hurry-up period and 7-on-7s Monday, Le'Veon Bell said. Mike Wallace led the Ravens' receiving core wit his first 100-yard game of the season, catching 10 passes for 120 yards.

That's big against a Baltimore team that, while it's getting more healthy itself, will still be without linebacker Elvis Dumervil, tight end Crockett Gilmore and has C.J. Mosley, Steve Smith, Ronnie Stanley, Terrell Suggs, Ladarius Webb and Marshall Yanda questionable for this game.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Smith was limited on Friday, but the injury report listed him as a full participant. However, in these types of high-profile injury situations, the news is going to seem that way, until an official announcement regarding game-day availability is made public. The Ravens have committed the fourth-most penalties of the group, with 56 accepted against for 438 yards on the season.

As such, Baltimore ranks No. 4 in the league in rush defense, allowing just 81.9 yards per game.

"He's a unique, unique running back", Pees said Thursday.

"Dr. Bradley said I've gone through this before so my body will tell me best how I feel", Roethlisberger said.

Each team is coming off its bye week, giving Pittsburgh's most important offensive player and Baltimore's most important defensive player time to heal after being sidelined by injuries. If you jump off the blocks too quick, he's going to make you pay. He can hit the hole quick. The other thing is, he's a problem out of the backfield in the passing game.

Pittsburgh's run defense has been bad the past two games without Heyward in the lineup, and while it's hard to believe one guy could make that much difference, he really does.

Of the last 16 games between these teams, no fewer than a dozen have been decided by three points or fewer. It came in Pittsburgh last season (129 yards, one touchdown). Flacco has thrown for five touchdowns and six interceptions.

But once again, there is good news here. Defensively, the Ravens showed up unlike the majority of the offense, as a Chris Moore fumble recovery resulted in Baltimore's lone touchdown on the day.
